A wonderful and unusual dog pin from the Late Victorian (ca1900) era! The piece, which is crafted in plated silver metal, is very detailed and portrays the 3-dimensional face of a dog. The dog, which is a British Bulldog breed, has a wonderfully expressive face with its distinctive pushed-in nose and under bite and deep folded wrinkles throughout. Additionally, there is a light fur texture covering most parts of the face. Despite the large size, the piece is completely open in back, allowing it to be very lightweight to wear. On the back of the pin is a large bar pin and secure c-catch clasp, allowing it to be easily fastened to a favorite garment.?Perfect for any Bulldog lover, this charming pin would make a special addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures approximately 1 7/8" tall, 2" at the widest point,?and 1 1/8" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there?is no apparent damage to the silver plated setting or raised detail. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition. There is a natural patina on the surface of the silver, which adds depth to the design.
